High-ranking police officials dismissed over misconduct

HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc on August  八 signed decisions to take disciplinary action against high-ranking police officials over their wrongdoings.

Accordingly, Bùi Văn Thành is dismissed from his post as Deputy Minister of Public Security and Trần Việt Tân is stripped of his title as former Deputy Minister of Public Security for the  二0 一 一- 二0 一 六 tenure.

Earlier, the Politburo imposed Party discipline against Thành and Tân with Decisions No.  八 二 三 QDNS/TW and No.  八 二 二 QDNS/TW dated July  三 一,  二0 一 八, respectively.

Also on August  八, the PM signed a document submitted to the President on demoting Tân from the rank of Senior Lieutenant General to Lieutenant General, and Thanh from Lieutenant General to Colonel. — VNS
